2016 was a great year for the Coldwell Banker Sacramento/Tahoe Community Foundation and the Coldwell Banker Tahoe/Truckee Community Foundation. From playing blackjack at Monte Carlo Casino Night to teeing off golf balls at the Charity Golf Tournament, the Foundation hosted a number of events throughout the Sacramento/Tahoe and Tahoe/Truckee region that brought together Coldwell Banker Independent Sales Associates, staff, family and friends for a worthy cause.
The Coldwell Banker Sacramento/Tahoe and Tahoe/Truckee Community Foundations are nonprofit organizations that are made up of affiliated sales associates, managers and staff throughout the regions that volunteer time, talent and resources to their local communities. Through their fundraising events, the Foundations raise and donate monetary contributions to Sacramento-area and Tahoe/Truckee-area organizations that share the Foundations’ mission of giving back.
Thanks to the participation of many, the Foundations made cash donations of over $50,000, while agents and offices provided additional estimated contributions of materials, supplies and labor for a total donation of over $100,000 in 2016.

Monte Carlo Casino Night | February 19
A night filled with fine evening cocktail attire, card tricks and fun and exciting auction items made up Monte Carlo Casino Night, a fundraising event that took place at the Sacramento Association of REALTORS®.
Through sponsorships, ticket sales, casino-style games, live and silent auctions and donations, the Foundations raised funds for the inaugural Pony Express Marathon and two vital local organizations, Alpha K9 and Courage Worldwide.
St. Patrick’s Day Luncheon & Silent Auction | March 16
Hosted by the Coldwell Banker Sierra Oaks and Sacramento Metro offices, the St. Paddy’s-themed fundraiser featured a grand luncheon with a traditional menu of corned beef, cabbage and Irish soda bread, a silent auction and networking opportunities with friends and colleagues.
All the funds raised were donated to the SAR Scholarship fund in order to help support the scholastic pursuits of deserving students.
Patio Wine Tasting Event | April 22
Hosted at the home of Manager of the Coldwell Banker Sacramento Fair Oaks office, Clay Sigg, attendees sipped on delicious wines from Wise Villa winery, the highest and most awarded winery in the entire state of California, while the winery’s experts discussed exceptional varietals produced in nearby Lincoln on their 27 acres of vineyards.
The event’s proceeds went towards supporting the Pony Express Marathon and benefitting Alpha K9 and Courage World Wide.
Pony Express Marathon | May 1
Coldwell Banker was one of the major sponsors of the inaugural Pony Express Marathon that took place on Sunday, May 1. In fact, the company was the only real estate company to sponsor the big event. In addition, the Coldwell Banker Sacramento/Tahoe Community Foundation and the past president of the Coldwell Banker Sacramento/Tahoe region Kris Vogt and Independent Sales Associate Marianela Giem presented a $25,000 donation to the Sacramento Rotary Club’s past president Dave Cohen, the event’s organizer.
Coldwell Banker Charity Golf Tournament | September 26
Coldwell Banker Sacramento-Tahoe and Tahoe-Truckee teed off for a good cause at the beautiful North Ridge Country Club in honor of the company’s 15th Annual Charity Golf Tournament. Over 144 golfers, along with dinner guests, volunteers, staff and friends, attended this year’s event for a day filled with fundraising, food and play.
This year’s tournament raised funds for local charities including: Boys & Girls Clubs of El Dorado and Placer Counties, Elk Grove Food Bank, Sacramento Blue Star Moms, Sacramento Children’s Home, Sierra Senior Services, Tahoe SAFE Alliance, Tubman House, Twin Lakes Food Bank, and other Sacramento/Tahoe charities.
In addition to raising funds, the Foundations also worked with offices in the Sacramento and Tahoe/Truckee regions to collect a total of 455 toys for Toys for Tots and 648 coats for One Warm Coat holiday charity campaigns.
The Sacramento/Tahoe Community Foundation and the Tahoe/Truckee Community Foundation wants to extend a huge thank you to all those that helped make a difference this year.
