Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage, announced that it has named veteran real estate executive Mike James president of the company’s Sacramento-Tahoe region. The announcement marks an expansion of his executive role in which he will continue to oversee the operations of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in the San Francisco Bay Area as well as Coldwell Banker Pacific Properties in Hawaii. All three companies are owned by NRT LLC.
In his expanded role, James will now oversee the operations of 57 branch offices and more than 3,900 affiliated sales associates throughout Northern California, in addition to five offices and more than 400 affiliated sales associates in Hawaii.
“Mike brings an unparalleled wealth of knowledge and experience to this position, including more than two decades managing some of the most successful real estate offices in the nation and holding the top executive posts in several of our regional markets,” said Greg Macres, executive vice president of the western region for NRT LLC.
“Throughout Mike’s career as an agent, a manager and an executive, he’s had tremendous success everywhere he has been,” Macres added. “I am confident he is going to do an outstanding job as president in the Sacramento-Tahoe region, helping us build on our company’s strong leadership position in the Northern California real estate market.”
James joined Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in 1995 and has served in multiple roles, including branch manager in Saratoga and Los Altos, helping grow those offices into two of the company’s highest sales volume offices in Northern California. He also served as regional vice president in the Bay Area before assuming the role of president of the Hawaii company in 2012. He was appointed president of the Bay Area region in 2014.
Macres said the decision to appoint James to oversee both the Bay Area and Sacramento-Tahoe region is an important strategic move for Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in Northern California.
“These two markets have increasingly stronger ties as more and more homebuyers and sellers have been migrating from the Bay Area into the greater Sacramento area,” he said. “This is an opportunity for us to create better synergies between the Bay Area operations and Sacramento-Tahoe, to better unite our affiliated agents, our resources, our services and our support between these two very important markets.”
James said he was excited by the opportunity to oversee the Sacramento-Tahoe region for Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage and help expand the company’s operations in Northern California.
“We’re starting from a position of strength as the number one brand in residential real estate in Northern California,” he said. “We have strong resources, marketing and technological tools, and a tremendous network of affiliated agents and offices. Having the Bay Area and Sacramento-Tahoe region work more closely going forward will help us take a great business to an even higher level for our customers.”
