“Choose a job you love and you will never have to work a day in your life.” So goes one of history’s most prolific pieces of career advice. For a more modern spin, Steve Jobs once addressed Stanford’s graduating class with, “The only way to do great work is to love what you do.” Either way, the sentiment remains the same. And it’s that sentiment that drives Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage. Through company recognition, philanthropy, business development and celebratory events all year long, Coldwell Banker is committed to fostering success, recognizing achievement and providing ample opportunities for affiliated Sales Associates to give back to their local community, network and just simply have fun. It’s a culture like no other.
And the proof is in the pudding. Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage has been named one of the Bay Area’s top workplaces for 2016 by The Bay Area News Group. This marks the third straight year Coldwell Banker has been honored with the award.
The 2016 Top Workplace list is based solely on the results of an employee feedback survey administered by WorkplaceDynamics, LLC, a leading research firm that specializes in organizational health and workplace improvement. The firm said several aspects of workplace culture were measured, including the alignment, execution, and connection between a company and its staff, just to name a few.
“The Top Workplaces award is not a popularity contest, and oftentimes, people assume it’s all about fancy perks and benefits,” says Doug Claffey, CEO of WorkplaceDynamics. “But to be a Top Workplace, organizations must meet our strict standards for organizational health. And who better to ask about work life than the people who live the culture every day — the employees.
What Coldwell Banker Independent Sales Associates Say*:
- “I have the ability to be creative and innovative.”
- “I love the agents who work in my office. The atmosphere is so kind and supportive amongst everyone.”
- “The agents and support staff are incredible.”
- “We are always on the cutting edge of growth and are always expanding.”
“Time and time again, our research has proven that what’s most important to them is a strong belief in where the organization is headed, how it’s going to get there, and the feeling that everyone is in it together,” Claffey added. “Without this sense of connection, an organization doesn’t have a shot at being named a Top Workplace.”
Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage has been honored not only for being the leading real estate company in the Bay Area, but also because it has been widely recognized as one of the region’s corporate leaders in giving back to the community.
“We’re honored to once again be named one of the top workplaces in the Bay Area,” said Mike James, president of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage. “We work very hard to create a successful business and provide outstanding service to consumers. But just as importantly, we try to create a great workplace for our employees and our affiliated agents, and to work together with them to give back to our local communities. It’s gratifying to see our efforts being recognized with this award.”
One way Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage did that was its community foundation’s month-long community-wide raffle last year that raised approximately $100,000 for Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Stanford. The non-profit hospital treats any child or expectant mother in the community who needs specialized care, regardless of their ability to pay.
