Luxury Collector 2015 Colorado Grand: Luxury Car Collector Enthusiasts Unite for Charity in Vail, Colorado

The Colorado Grand invites luxury collector’s from all over the world to “race” and tour the Rocky Mountains in cars that have hardly been seen outside of museums. Drivers and teams will be raising hundreds of thousands of dollars for students.

September, for Vail visitors and a luxury collector it is a special time of year. Long summer days and warm temperatures give way to cool nights, autumn air, and the amber and gold crisp fall colors of the mountain Aspen trees. Crowds thin and the sweet sounds of world renowned symphonies have come and gone for another year. The buzz of kids and families running through our mountain villages are replaced with serenity, silence, and smells of fall. Tall grasses along our hiking trails have become tall, brown, and bending in the changing seasonal winds. For a luxury car collector, Vail, Colorado, and autumn becomes the perfect back drop for a unique vintage car race and car show named The Colorado Grand. For the 27th year, affluent car collectors from around the world will gather September 14–19 to race through back roads and small towns of Colorado, ultimately finishing in the town of Vail. Drivers and sponsors share what has become one of the most astounding displays of vintage, exotic, luxury, and rare cars ever produced, collected, and publicly displayed.

The Colorado Grand invites luxury collector’s from all over the world to “race” and tour the Rocky Mountains in cars that have hardly been seen outside of museums. Some of which are from the 1920s and 30s and often only a few of these luxury race cars still remain in the world. Spectators will see cars from well known manufacturers such as Maserati, Jaguar, Mercedes-Benz, Ferrari, Porsche, Bugatti, Alfa Romeo, Bentley, and Aston Martin. Rare offerings also include cars from Allard, Talbot-Lago, Amilcar, Cisitalia, Squire, Delahaye, and others. In addition to The Colorado Grand, visitors will find fall pricing in our fabulous Vail hotels and award-winning restaurants, which are often offering wonderful fall packages.

Fall is also a terrific opportunity to tour some of our custom built mountain residences that can only be found in the Vail valley. Ski In/Ski Out residential real estate opportunities are showcased during this event, giving qualified buyers an opportunity to preview and invest prior to the commencement of the ski season. Condos and single family homes overlooking the events of The Colorado Grand from high mountain vantage points will be open and on display.

Luxury car enthusiasts and collectors will have 85 vintage cars (pre-1960) on display once the 1,000-mile tour concludes. Drivers and teams will be raising hundreds of thousands of dollars for students from small towns and communities throughout the state along the race route. To date, $4 million in scholarships have been given out to Colorado students, including $1.5 million in scholarships to the Colorado State Patrol Family Foundation. All funds go towards students pursuing their educational dreams and aspirations. The Colorado State Patrol will also be lending a hand by escorting these rare vintage cars as they cruise throughout the state and mountain towns.
